Welcome to Obremski/Works
Obremski/Works is an AAPI equity-minded non-profit organization with an internationally presented creation-based dance company and Fellowships which both enhance the careers and lives of AAPI representing individuals.
The two equal cornerstones of the organization, Company and Fellowships, challenge established norms of AAPI individuals and shape what AAPI artistry means.

Joined by artists from across America, Japan, and Taiwan, join Obremski/Works at these Arts on Site performances to support Asian and Pacific Islander artistry, representation, and advocacy. The program will host a company premiere of Founder/Director/Choreographer Jesse Obremski's "Opportunity" (which has been performed internationally including the Czech Republic and Canada) as well as two world premiere solos by Obremski which initiate the building of a new evening-length work for Obremski/Works to the music of Coldplay. The program will share space with the 2025 VOYAGER Fellow Michaella Ho to present their work in support of their 0-1b visa portfolio and application. Additionally, this program will host our first-ever commissioned choreographer, international artist Jie-Hung Connie Shiau, to create a world premiere for the company.
At Obremski/Works, we take immense pride in establishing an inclusive space that fosters creativity, diversity, and equity.
As an AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) equity-minded organization, we exist to showcase the richness and beauty of AAPI cultures through the contemporary field, while promoting equitable opportunities and representation within the artistic realm for AAPI folks.
Our organization is a vibrant hub of talented movers, collaborative creators, musicians, and cultural enthusiasts who come together to create mind-broadening performances and captivating experiences. With a deep respect and understanding of the vibrant tapestry of AAPI dance cultures, we continuously bring forward AAPI artists through the contemporary lens to challenge established norms and challenge ourselves to create works that support a lasting impact on our audiences and artists.
By diving into Obremski/Works, you immerse yourself in a community where voices and perspectives are valued. We believe that the power of movement contains not only physical abilities, connection, and expertise but also in the stories we tell. By shedding light on the experiences, struggles, and triumphs of AAPI communities, we aim to dismantle stereotypes and foster empathy and understanding.
Obremski/Works is not just a movement company; it is a catalyst for change. The organization consists of two equal cornerstones, the Company and Fellowships, which are the vehicles toward this social change and AAPI equity-minded work. By raising awareness about social issues affecting AAPI communities, we use the arts as a platform for advocacy and activism.
we invite you to join Obremski/works towards an AAPI equity-minded community and culture, where we can redefine our communal narrative to create and sustain a more empathetic future.
