George Obremski (he/him), a renowned photographer and educator, has literally traveled the world to take his photographs. He has a comprehensive experience working with exceptional weather and lighting conditions.  Whether in black or white and also an advocate of color his vibrant color photography uses light and effect to create unforgettable images.

Nikon has proclaimed him to be "one of today's greatest photographers". A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology which has written that  "he has captured haunting portraits in time,"  and the University of the Arts recognizes him as one of their notable alumni.  For the past 25 years, he has distinguished himself with his fine-art photographs, editorial and advertising assignments, as well as exhibitions and teaching. Noted photography critic A.D. Coleman for the Sunday N.Y. Times had written that  "his images are full of restrained force".

He is an experienced workshop leader. In a critique from a student of a recently given workshop at  Columbia Green College, it was written that "the workshop experience was moving, emotionally energizing and unique in all my history in the classroom and workshops over 40 years".

George Obremski's distinguished career in photography began after he was a Fulbright Scholar and a Danish Marshall's Award recipient in the 80s and since then included among his many awards for excellence is a Silver Medal from the Art Director's Club as well as awards from Graphics Press,  Photographics, PPA, Audubon, Fuji, Communication Arts and the Santa Fe Center for Visual Arts.  

Obremski's personal work has been in many exhibitions in major museums and universities which include the  Museum of Modern Art, the Herbert F.Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University, the University of New Mexico, Musoe Correr in Venice and  Le Musee Francis de la Photography in Versailles and he represented in many museums and private collections including the  Museum of the City of New York, he Library of Congress and I.B.M. A review example is "Whatever his means, they justify the end in his powerful, often life-size photographs of figures and fragments of the human form. A sense of stillness and age combines with an essence of the restrained violence that results from compression to give these prints their power." His images and articles have been featured in numerous photographic periodicals including Popular Photography, Modern Photography, Camera 35 as well as Kodak International Photography and America Illustrated published by the US Information Agency featuring America's most outstanding photographers and distributed internationally. He has also appeared in scores of international photographic periodicals including  Fotograghia Italia of Italy, Aktuell Fotographia of Sweden, and Creative Camera and  Camera of England.  It was written that  "his attention to the graphic arrangement of the visual elements, gives weight to even the most casual of his observation". and "Achieving the ultimate image, whether with a brush or a lens, is never simple. It's this dissatisfaction that drives an artist. He must be obsessed by the idea that the image he has been striving for is still to come. He continues to pursue the making of that ultimate image. If indeed he hasn't found it already".

Obremski has been featured in the Institute of International Education's Annual Report as well as served a number of times on the selection committee of the IIE for future Fulbright recipients.  He has lectured and taught creative photography at many universities and private schools including  Philadelphia College of Art, School of Visual Arts, Cooper Union, The Fashion Institute of Technology, New York University, Columbia Green College, and the  University of the Arts. He is an experienced instructor with many years of experience.

His photographs appeared in scores of books including  Time-Life Books, The Nikon Image, Favorite Places, a Travel and Leisure book, and The Best of Food & Wine. His commercial photography has appeared in over 100 publications including  Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Town & Country, House & Garden,  Architectural Digest, the New York Sunday Times,  Travel & Leisure, and Food & Wine.  Architectural Digest's art director Jeff Nemeroff has come to count on Obremski, "George possesses the talent to produce the unexpected" he says.  "The photographs will be a little more artful, more personal, more surprising.  Through his photographs, the viewer gets a real sense of what they might experience if visiting the location".

He has also been featured and interviewed on the television programs shows, World of Photography, and Best Talk in Town, and his stock photography is represented by Corbis as well as others.
